Rev. Grace (Sangjin) Song is the chairperson of the Won Buddhist Studies Department at the Won Institute of Graduate Studies in Philadelphia.
Rev. Song earned an M.A. in Won Buddhist Studies from the Won Institute of Graduate Studies, PA. and a M.A. of Eastern Religion Studies from Seoul National University. She received her full ordination in 2006.Rev. Song’s Ph. D. thesis (The Relation of Mindfulness and Life Satisfaction: The Mediating Role of Hope) focused on an empirical study of the effect of mindfulness practice in the field of education.
She believes that this is the way to realize the vision of Sotaesan, the founding She specializes in incorporating mindfulness into standard educational practices, directed toward diverse groups and communities. She’s currently a Buddhist Chaplain at the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the Mayor’s Commission on Faith-Based and Interfaith Affairs.
