Jimmy’s connection to Won Buddhism dates back to 1989 in Flushing, NY, where he met his first teacher and spiritual mother, Ven. Chotawonim. Since then, Jimmy has revolved around the practice of Won Buddhist teachings. It was only five years ago, in Youngsan, the birthplace of Won Buddhism, Korea, where he found his calling to dedicate his life to serving others.
Aspiring to become a Won Buddhist Minister, Jimmy joined the Won Dharma Center on November 28, 2022. Since then, he has trained as a sous chef, and as of January 2024, he has taken on the role of head chef at the WDC. Jimmy brings over 21 years of experience, having worked in various restaurants serving Japanese, Chinese, Korean and Mexican cuisines.
His bright spirit adds liveliness to the kitchen of the Won Dharma Center.
