Rev. Haegum graduated from Youngsan University in Korea with a major in Won Buddhism and earned his M.A. from the Won-Buddhism Graduate School in Iksan, Korea. He was ordained as a Won Buddhist minister in December 2006. Since then, he has served at the Headquarters in Korea, and in 2025, he was assigned to the Headquarters in the United States.
He is always committed to supporting both ordained and lay practitioners in their faith and practice. He hopes that everyone who encounters Won Buddhism will be guided toward a joyful, meaningful life within a harmonious and fulfilling community.
